Vastavam web: Senior actor and TDP legislator from Hindupuram assembly constituency in Anantapur, Nandamuri Balakrishna, might be politically opposite to the TRS in Telangana, but has friendly relations with TRS president and CM KCR. On Saturday, Balakrishna thanked KCR profusely for including a lesson on the life history of his father – legendary actor and TDP founder N T Rama Rao – the social studies text book in the revised syllabus for Class X in all the Telangana schools.
Describing this as a great decision, Balakrishna said NTR had brought a new recognition to the Telugu arts and culture. “He had shaken the seat of power in New Delhi by highlighting the Telugu self-respect and pride. He was a people’s leader who took several bold and popular decisions and brought the administration to the doorstep of the common man. He was instrumental in highlighting the Telugu land on the map of India,” he said. “I wholeheartedly thank honourable chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the Telangana government for taking this great decision,” Balayya said.
