Russia registers 1st corona virus vaccine in the world

Vastavam web: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday launched the country’s first coronavirus vaccine, touted as the first in the world too. Putin also told that his daughters have been given this vaccine. The Russian President said, “For the first time in the world this morning, the vaccine has been registered against the new Coronavirus.” He thanked all those who have worked on this medicine. Putin said that the drug has gone through the required test and both his daughters have also been vaccinated. They are feeling healthy.

Last week, the Health Ministry announced that it plans to begin mass production in September and launch a mass vaccination drive in October. The vaccine developed by the state-run Gamaleya research institute entered clinical studies on June 18 and moved into the phase 3 trials last week. Many people involved in research and manufacturing have given themselves the dose of this vaccine. Some people may catch fever when given a dose of medicine, for which the use of paracetamol has been suggested.

From this week, this medicine will be given to citizens, but there is opposition to it. A local association of multinational pharma companies has warned that allowing civil use of vaccine without completing clinical trials could prove to be a dangerous step.
