4,000 to 5,000 crores can be saved through reverse tendering: AP Minister Anil Kumar

Vastavam web: AP Minister for Water Resources P Anil Kumar on Sunday said around Rs 900 crore were saved to the exchequer through reverse tendering. He inspected the collapsed sluice of Penna Barrage. The reverse tendering process, the Minister said the reverse tenderingis likely to savebetween Rs 4,000 and 5,000 crore to the exchequer once the process is over.

He said the government had saved Rs 800 crore in Polavaram, Rs 80 crore in Veligonda, and Rs 58 crore in Penna Right canal works. He said a total of 105 works were completed so far in Nellore in a transparent manner through the tendering process. He said the government had invited Navayuga Group to participate in Polavaram tendering.

Ritwik group which filed tenders at 4 per cent excess earlier in Veligonda works also participated by quoting less than the previous rateduring the reverse tendering process. He said Rs 1,000 crore worth of works in Nellore district were considered to be subjected to reverse tendering, he said. “We have saved around Rs 900 crore till now and it would go up to Rs 4,000-5,000 crore ultimately after completion of the entire process. But, unfortunately, the opposition party was criticising the government bymaking wild allegations. said Anil Kumar.
