Vastavam web: Home Minister Mekatoti Sucharita stated on Friday that women and girl students are suffering many problems due to cybercrimes in the State and the government is trying to help the victims at the earliest. She addressed a workshop organised by Police department at the Secretariat on “women safety in cybercrime’ on Friday. Women MLAs, senior police officers and others attended the programme.
Addressing on the occasion, Sucharita said the cyber criminals are targeting the young girls, students and women and robbing the personal data for misuse. She said women and girls, who are active on the social media, are becoming victims of cybercrimes as the criminals are using the Spy App to steal the data from the phone users, when the phone users give for a repair. She said women and girls are suffering a lot due to lack of awareness on the cybercrimes and preventive measures have to be taken in this regard.
She cautioned the people to be vigilant with the criminals, who send friend requests on face book and other social media. She lamented that some women are committing suicides after getting cheated by these criminals. She said the objective of conducting the workshop is to create awareness on the cybercrimes among women and girls. Director General of Police D Gautam Sawang said the Police department is giving top priority for the safety of women and children. He said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the police department to give top priority to the safety of women and children.
