TRS MP filed case against Polavaram Project: Uma Maheswara

Vastavam web: Alleging that the TRS has been inconsistent in its stand on Polavaram project, Water Resources Minister D Umamaheswara Rao said that TRS MP K Kavitha had filed a case against the construction of Polavaram Irrigation Project in the Supreme Court and the case is still pending. The Minister said that Kavitha lodged a writ petition urging the Supreme Court to cancel permissions given by Union Ministry of Forest & Environment and Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Through her organisation Telangana Jagruthi, Kavitha lodged this case way back in 2011 under case number 459.

He said that KCR created many hurdles in construction of the project. “Andhra people will not forget the allegations made by KCR on them at the time of Telangana movement. He recalled that KCR had said that Andhra people were tenants in Hyderabad, AP Brahmin’s don’t even know how to chant mantras, and KCR called Telugu Talli as the devil. He said Andhra people do not know how to prepare biryani and it tastes like (penta) bird droppings,” Umamaheswara Rao reminded.
