Vastavam web: Cyclone Titli which caused tension among the Andhra Pradesh administration and people of North Andhra region had caused damage in Srikakulam district. The cyclonic storm caused damage of over Rs 3,435 crore in Srikakulam district on October 11. “The district has been pushed back by 20 years because of Titli. Coconut and cashew nut plantations were completely destroyed. The scars left over by Titli could be found everywhere in the district.
UPASA is the first Telugu NRI organization from USA to help victims of Titli.
Crossing the coastline with a wind speed of 160 kmph, the cyclone threw the public life into jeopardy and caused misery to thousands of individuals. In an effort to resurrect the district to normalcy, JanaSena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan has called out to people to do their bit in spreading awareness on the disaster.
Drawing similarities with the recent destruction caused in Kerala, Pawan Kalyan said that the locals are fearing of losing their livelihood. “I request all the Janasainikis and other charity organisations to come forward and help the cause here in Srikakulam. Each one of us must respond in this time of grief and do our bit in helping the victims,”.
To do thier support UPASA NRI Telugu Organization and Janasena party (JSP) teams distributed candles, rice, vegetables, onions, water, milk and medicines to the affected villages Mamidipalli, Makannapalli, Gurudas Puram , Kobbarichetluru in PALASA Mandal. Sariyapalli, Laxmipuram, Pottangi, Balarampuram, Ln Puram, Upparpeta, J.K puram, Chowkepeta colony, Pedda Narayana Puram , Chinna Narayanapuram, Kasipuram , Gujjuluru , Chinna kesupuram, Gedduru in Mandasa Mandal. Angavanipeta, Reyyipadu Panchayati, Mahadevipuram in Vajrapukotturu Mandal.
UPASA leadership team spoke to vastavam and explained their charity activities in Titli affected areas. Dr.Durgarao from Srikakulam area coordinated with UPASA team to organize these services, they added.
