One-horned rhino wept away from Nepal rescued from Indian village

Vastavam web: An endangered one-horned rhino which was swept away from Nepal’s Chitwan Naitonal Park by the Rapti river flood to India has been rescued safely.The two-and-a-half-year-old female rhino was rescued yesterday and brought back to its habitat in Chitwan Naitonal Park (CNP) on a truck today, said Narendra Aryal, assistant conservation officer of the CNP.It was found at the Bagaha area in Bihar of India and rescued with the help of information provided by the Indian officials. The rhino was found in midst of a sugarcane field in a village.One of the rhinos was spotted heading towards Nepal-India border near the Balmiki Ashram while another missing rhino has been spotted at the Buffer Zone of Indian forest.
