Vastavam Web: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections is witnessing large scale campaigning by all the parties, road shows, public rallies and door-to-door campaigning has become the norm of the city. But what has taken a major beating is the Covid-19 appropriate behaviour. We are witnessing campaigns full of people, including children, without any regard for physical distancing and masks.
It looks like no one is afraid of Covid-19 despite Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao warning of probable second wave of virus attack. None has clue about how many asymptomatic carriers of virus are on the roads and how many are in the middle of treatment. Politicians bring crowds for road shows and other gatherings and for a few rupees and food, these people are putting their lives at risk. Even leaders are not instructing their cadre and the hired people to wear masks. The people have become carefree practically as the campaigning for the December 1 GHMC elections is intensified with the completion of withdrawls.
