Vastavam Web: On the 14 of September, a Dalit girl was allegedly gang-raped by four men in the Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident which is dubbed as the Hathras rape case has resulted in a widespread outrage.
As a shocking twist in the match talked about case, the Uttar Pradesh police said that there is no rape angle in the incident. Citing the details forensic report and postmortem report, Uttar Pradesh Law and order Additional Director General(ADG) Prashant Kumar said that there was no rape in the case.
The ADG said, no traces of sperm were found on the victim’s body, and in her statement, the victim did not mention about rape. The victim breathed her last due to an injury on her neck and the trauma caused by it. The National Human Rights Commission(NHRC) slapped notices to the Uttar Pradesh government and the state DGP and directed them to submit the explanation over cremating the victim’s body overnight without the family’s consent.
Adding more fuel to the outrage, a video surfaced online in which Hathras District Magistrate(DM) Praveen Laxkar can be seen threatening the victim’s father to allegedly change the statement.
