Resolve low-voltage problem in Amaravati: AP Chief Secretary

Vastavam web: The works undertaken under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grama Jyoti Yojana should be completed in time to solve the low-voltage problem and improve power supply in rural areas of the state, Chief Secretary L V Subrahmanyam instructed the officials while addressing the State-level standing committee meeting of the scheme at the Secretariat here on Thursday.

The Chief Secretary said the officials should complete the power projects in time to give an assurance to people that there would be no interruption in power supply and there would be no need to install stabilisers in their homes.

Under the Grama Jyoti Yojana Scheme, the Centre has granted Rs 521.54 crore for rural electrification, power sub-stations, DTR meters, HCDS and other works and Rs Rs 404 crore has already been spent. The standing committee approved the rest of amount of Rs 117.54 crore for the remaining works.
