Vastavam web: Indian pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah has broken into the top 10 of ICC rankings for Test bowlers. The young seamer, who is already ranked as the premier bowler in ODIs, spearhead India’s match-winning effort with the ball in the fourth innings of the recently concluded Test match against West Indies and ended up with figures of 5 wickets for 7 runs. The remarkable display of pace bowling helped Bumrah shoot to the seventh spot in the rankings while Windies pacer Kemar Roach secured the eighth place, just below his Indian counterpart.
India’s middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane too saw a surge in ranking after his performance in the first Test against the Windies in Antigua. The Indian vice-captain jumped 10 spots and moved to the eleventh place in the rankings. Rahane had essayed knocks of 81 and 102 and played a key role in turning the game in India’s favour. On the other hand, English all-rounder Ben Stokes moved to a career-high thirteenth spot on the ICC rankings for Test batsmen.
