Vastavam web: Following a dismal performance in the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission of India had served notices to Communist Party of India (CPI) and Communist Party of Marxist (CPM) on their status as ‘National Party.’ The EC wanted a clear cut explanation from the both the parties and planned to decide the status based on it.
On Friday, the EC reportedly announced that both CPI and CPM have lost the badge of ‘National Party Status’ and a circular is released in the same regards. Along with the communist parties, EC has also served notices to Trinamool Congress (TMC), Nationalistic Congress party (NCP). Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was supposed to lose the status as well. But in the recent elections they have won 10 MP seats and so it is in safer side.a
