Ward Secretaries Will Play Key Role in addressing civic issues: AP Municipal Minister

Vastavam web: Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Botcha Satyanarayana has said that the ward secretaries appointed by the State government will play important role in addressing the civic issues in urban local bodies in the State. He said the ward secretaries would work under the supervision of an administrative secretary in the respective ward and they would work in co-ordination with the municipal staff.

Addressing a media conference at the party State office here on Saturday, he said the education secretaries will collect the data from the people on sanctioning of Amma Vodi scheme, scholarships, fee reimbursement and education related issues in the government schools.

Ward secretaries will work in co-ordination with the civic staff to improve the delivery of services to the denizens. He said the government would fill up four lakh jobs through the village secretariats and ward secretariats and fulfill the promise made to the people of the State during the Padayatra of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He informed that one volunteer will be appointed for every 50 families and the volunteers take care of delivery of ration to the households. He said the YSRCP government was trying to implement Navaratnalu within 60 days of assuming power in the State.
