Vastavam web: Pouring cold water on the balance hope over industrial growth in the debt-laden Andhra Pradesh, Union Minister for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Nitin Gadkari has ruled out the option of doling out any special tax benefits to AP. In response to YCP MP Avinash Reddy’s question, Nitin Gadkari said no special treatment would be given to AP.
Avinash Reddy has pointed out the lack of industrial growth in AP after the state’s bifurcation. He also raised the issue of unemployment in the state which has become a serious concern. Reddy even recalled Modi’s promise on Special Category Status to the state in his Tirupati public meeting which he didn’t keep. Considering the above, Avinash has asked the Union Minister Gadkari to extend special tax benefits and Sops to AP. Replying to his question, Gadkari said it is not possible to give such benefit only to one state.
