AP CM and Rahul discuss plans to forge alliance

Vastavam web: Stepping up his efforts in shaping an anti-Modi opposition in the country to stitch an alliance of all anti-BJP forces, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu continued his consultation process with national leaders here on Tuesday. This is Naidu’s third round of consultations in Delhi and it comes in the wake of Modi’s authoritarian rule and misuse of institutions against the opponents, the latest being that of CBI move against SP leader Akhilesh Yadav soon after he announced his alliance with BSP’s Mayawati.

This meeting assumes importance as both the leaders are said to have discussed on the action plan to take the front forward. It is said that both the leaders were of the opinion that before the notification for general elections is announced, at least two or three big public meetings and some rallies in which all the top leaders of the proposed front should participate. It may be mentioned here that almost all Opposition parties have confirmed participation in the January 19 rally in Kolkata being organised by Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. This meeting is billed as her show of strength to unite Opposition parties against the BJP ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
