Vastavam web: Within months after his swearing-in ceremony, Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy imposed restrictions on media. An order has been based to refrain media persons from entering Vidhana Soudha, the state assembly. Citing the reason that constant frequent visits by the media affect work routines of ministers and other officials of the Secretariat as well as the functioning of the daily procedures, this step has been undertaken.
The Chief Minister has asked the Director General Office to make separate enclosures for media outside the assembly building. The limitation also extends to journalists and media personnel visiting on a regular day-to-day basis. Mediapersons willn’t be able to enter the Assembly Premises anymore. Media briefings would happen only if Ministers or Officials working in Secretariat intend to speak something. For the first time ever, Such a tough call has been taken by a Karnataka Chief Minister. This could be an attempt to curtail negative campaign against the JD (S)-Congress coalition government.
