Vastavam web: When riding a two-wheeler, the first thing one is reminded of is to wear a helmet (for personal safety). However, the chief minister of a state ignored the law, as well as the basics of riding a two-wheeler.
The CM in question is Jharkhand’s Raghubar Das. He is facing flak from the Opposition for riding a scooter sans a helmet on Diwali night. In fact, the chief minister took to the road without even his security cover. Das celebrated Diwali at his home in Jamshedpur, which is also his Assembly constituency. Das along with a few people rode around on his scooter on Thursday night for around two km and visited the homes of people.The CM’s move to meet people without his security cover has also attracted criticism. “Last year, the chief minister, at a program related to road safety, had appealed to people to move on bikes only after wearing a helmet. The state government had also come out with advertisements in local newspapers and news channels, citing the example of Chief Minister Raghubar Das,” Kishore Sahdeo, state Congress General Secretary, told
