BRICS-themed subway train started test operations in China

Vastavam web: A BRICS-themed subway train with carriages representing the five member nations including India has started test operations in China’s southeastern Xiamen city where the grouping’s summit was held last month.The Indian carriage depicts elephants and yoga, state-run Xinhua news agency reported today.The subway train, which started its test run yesterday, has six carriages, five of which represents different cultures of the BRICS countries — Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
The sixth carriage combines cultural elements from all the five BRICS countries.The train has proved popular among Xiamen residents, the report said.Zhang Chunqing, who is from Xiamen, said the train’s design is unique and represents the cultures of the five countries.The Xiamen Subway Line 1 launched another three themed trains during its test operations.The subway’s test operations will last until October 11.
