Telangana American Telugu Association (T.A.T.A) Washington Bathukamma and Dasara Celebrations

Vastavam web: Telangana American Telugu association (T.A.T.A), Washington Telangana Association(WATA) and Washington Telugu Society(WATS) unified the colors in Washington with the beautiful and medicinal flowers as festival of flowers called Bathukamma on this Saturday. Interlake high school, Bellview packed and over crowded with more than 2500 attendees with women and kids with beautiful smiles and having bathukamma in their hands. Media whispered, it’s one of the biggest crowd in Seattle history for an Indian festival and asked the organizers Mr. Vamshi Reddy, Board of Director T.A.T.A, Pradeep Mettu, RVP, T.A.T.A to know more about it.

Bathukamma and Dasara are the Telangana festivals celebrated with traditional ferver, devotion and gaiety across the Telangana, Mr. Vamshi Reddy said to the news. Telangana is blessed with huge variety of flowers such as Gunugu, Ponna, Chamanthi, Banthi, Mandhara etc, and every flower has perfect medicinal value. We, telanganites believe that these are the life savers and add healthiness to the lives. Telangana is the only state which respects and devotes the flowers.  Reddy, also thanked his elders who taught the great culture and values of the nature as it considered Pethramasa. He also thanked all the attendees for making wonderful bathukammas and bringing it here to celebrate altogether.

Regional Vice presidents of T.A.T.A Pradeep Mettu worked with RCs to arrange all the needs for the crowd. It’s always happy to serve the people for needy and arrange the requirements to run the event smoothly. In fact, Athidhidevobhava is the traditional word of every telanganite and telugu and it is custom in our families to take care of guest. Bathukamma festival has unique importance and it has special celebrative steps and needs to arrange of them to the devotees Washington Telangana American president Mr. Hari Katukuri added. Ram Koti, Washington Telugu society President added its been many years we are celebrating in Washington and every year the crowd doubles and this time is more than what we expected. All the three organizations took the necessary arrangements well in advance and congratulated the team for the successful arrangements.

Dr. Pailla Malla Reddy, Advisory Committee Chair of T.A.T.A. was available on phone from New York with the Advisory team Dr. Harinath Policherla, Dr. Vijaypal Reddy, Dr.Mohan Patlolla,Dr.Sudhakar Vidiyala and Mr.Srinivas Reddy Anugu. Dr. Pailla greeted crowd on this auspicious occasion. Since all the Telalginites residing in USA are away from the home country, asked T.A.T.A team to fill the gaps and arrange all the requirements to our Telangana family to celebrate this wonderful Bathukamma and Dasara festival.

 President Smt. Jhansi Reddy spoke to the media and said that Telangana American Telugu Association is a national non-profit organization serving better to our community. It has spreader with enormous volunteer group in states to serve our families in short span of time.  Every year T.A.T.A celebrates Bathukamma in all the states in nation. On this occasion, we are inviting Folk singers, Musicians, celebrities and Telangana special bands and troops from India. She thanked Executive committee for supporting the festival season happening nationwide. They are always with me as my extended family, she added.

Mr. Bharath Madadi, Executive Vice President, from Atlanta expressed his sincere thanks to the Telangana community who were involved in all the arrangements for the wonderful flowers festival. He applauded the entire TATA Washington team for their hard work to give the best hospitality to the guests though unexpected crowd on Bathukamma day. Mr. Madadi thanked Vamshi Reddy and Pradeep for their hard work to spread the word T.A.T.A. in Washington.

Mr. Vikram Jangam, secretary, T.A.T.A from Dallas, thanked all the media partners, sister organizations WATA, WATS and well-wishers of T.A.T.A participating in the mega festive Bathukamma and Dasara celebrations. He thanked Telugu stars Smt. Laya. Kumari Rashmi, Mr. Bhikshu Naik for coming all the way from India to entertain our people.
