Good news for Sai devotees DGCA gives aerodrome license to Shirdi airport

Vastavam web: Here is a good news to Shirdi Sai devotees. Now they need not spend more than 12-24 hours to reach Shirdi from far away distances and now they can reach Shirdi by flight and can visit Baba’s temple with in short time. India’s aviation regulator the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has given an aerodrome license to a greenfield airport at the temple town of Shirdi, Maharashtra.
The airport is located at Kakdi village, about 14 km South-west of the town Shirdi.  The Rs 350 crore airport, spread over 400 hectares would be owned by the state-controlled Maharashtra Airport Development Company.  The airport would likely push religious tourism, also at a time when the government is pushing religions connectivity at low airfares.
