Pakistan’s Senate condemning the killing of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar

Vastavam web: Pakistan’s Senate today unanimously passed a resolution, condemning the killing of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.The resolution, moved by Leader of the House Raja Zafar- ul-Haq, termed the oppression being perpetrated against Rohingyas “as crimes against humanity”.The House also urged the International Community to take notice of crimes being committed against humanity in Myanmar.
The Senate called upon the government of Pakistan to immediately take up the matter with UN Secretary General.Pakistan on Saturday summoned the Myanmar envoy and lodged a strong protest over the ongoing violence against the Rohingya Muslims in the Rakhine state.According to UN estimates, over 1,000 people may have been killed in the crackdown launched by the Myanmar Army in the Rakhine state since last month.
