CV Reddy appointed chairman of India's Academy Awards jury

For the first time in 60 years, the Film Federation of India (FFI) has appointed a Telugu filmmaker and producer as the chairman for its Oscars committee. The jury is now being headed by Telugu filmmaker CV Reddy, and they will pick the deserving film to be nominated in the Best Foreign Language category for Oscars 2018. According to a report in the Times Of India, the screenings will take place at the Telugu film Chamber of Commerce at Filmnagar starting from September 16. Based on the entries, the date may be extended up to September 23. The film decided by the jury will be submitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences by October 1, 2017.
