OVERVIEW: Although Gopichand has been delivering flops lately, he teaming up with hit director Sampath Nandi generated a lot of interest.Gautam Nanda is one film which is very crucial for both Gopichand and director Sampath Nandi.

After facing a deep insult during a party, he decides to kill himself and crashes his car into Nanda(Gopichand), an upset and middle-class youth. To his shock, Gautam finds out that Nanda is his look alike and both of them start revealing their stories. After a point, they decide to exchange their lives for a month. The rest of the story is as to what problems do Gautam Nanda face when they interchange their lives.
REVIEW: Gopichand is decent as the rich guy and at home as the slum dweller. He does his best to do justice to both the characters, but the lackluster script lets him down.Gopi is superb in both the roles and showcases decent emotions. The way his role makes a transformation, in the end, is nicely showcased by Sampath Nandi. The last 20 minutes of the film are quite emotional as a very good surprise is thrown for the audience which is impressive. Production values of the film are very good as Sampath Nandi has showcased the locations and set up in a rich manner.
Hansika played the pretty face part well. Catherine Tresa scores brownie points with glamour show. She bowls the youth and masses with her Bikini Sequence but there is nothing much to say about performance. Mukesh Rishi is routine and so is Sachin. Chandra Mohan and Seetha add the emotional depth to the proceedings.Sachin Khedekar have little scope to perform. Bithiri Satthi and Vennela Kishore are there for the sake of comedy.
Sampath Nandi once again takes the beaten path with Gautham Nanda. It is an old wine in an old bottle. Plot is interesting but the execution is very bland without any interesting moments. The one thing that impresses about the movie are the rich production values and locations. The artwork and Soundar Rajan’s cinematography have made the film look bright.Thaman’s background score is loud and the songs are not impressive. Some dialogues are good but the screenplay and the comedy part are too cliched.
Final Verdict of this film is, Gautam Nanda is an okay kind of film which gets interesting during the end. Gopichand’s interesting transformation and superb production values provide good eye candy for the audience. The film may have chances of finding audiences in B and C centers, but for regular multiplex audiences, it might not work.
