Warm welcome to PM Modi at White house

Vastavam web: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was today greeted by a group of people from the Indian community who were waiting for him outside a high-security hotel here where he is staying.  Modi arrived in the American capital today for his first bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump.  A small group of people from the Indian community were waiting outside Willard InterContinental to catch a glimpse of the Indian prime minister. As Modi’s motorcade arrived at the hotel, he got out of his vehicle and walked up to the group of people, waving his hand. The Indian community members burst into loud cheers and chanted “Modi-Modi” as Modi walked up to them. Later Narendra Modi has invited Trump to India and said that the honor he received belongs to the entire India. Trump told that India is the most favored nation to US. President Donald Trump welcomed India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the White House Monday for their first meeting, where personal chemistry as much as policy could set the tone for future relations. The leaders of the world’s two largest democracies are looking to expand ties on defense and fighting terrorism, but strains are likely on trade. Hours before Modi’s arrival, the State Department imposed sanctions on the Pakistan-based leader of the main rebel group that fights against Indian control in the divided Himalayan region of Kashmir. India hailed the move.

Trump has so far focused on outreach to China, India’s strategic rival, as he looks to Beijing to rein in nuclear-armed North Korea. But Washington and New Delhi share concerns about China’s rise as a military power that has underpinned increasingly close relations in the past decade.
