Congress MP Palvai died

Vastavam web: Senior Congress leader, Rajya Sabha Member of Telangana state Palvai Govardhan Reddy died of heart attack in Kulu, Himachal Pradesh today morning. He won as MLS five times from Mahabub Nagar district and worked as minister in Kotla Vijayabhaskara Reddy cabinet. Reddy suffered a severe heart stroke while traveling in a car to attend a Parliamentary Standing Committee meeting in Kulu this morning.

Born on 20 November 1936 in Nadimpally village of Acchampet mandal in Mahabubnagar district, Palvai is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter. After becoming Rajya Sabha Member from the undivided Andhra Pradesh on 3 April 2012, Reddy was shifted to Telangana quota in May 2014.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, TRS senior leader Rajya Sabha Member K. Kesava Rao have recalled their close association Palvai and made arrangements to bring the body from Kulu. Reddy was an MLA during 1967-72, 1972-78, 1978-83, 1983-85 and 1999-2004. During 2007-09 he was a Member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council.
