Venkaiah Naidu conffered by UN

Vastavam web: Union Housing and Urban poverty Alleviation minister Venkaiah Naidu chaired UN Habitat in Nairobi in Kenya. Bharath has been unanimously elected to head UN-Habitat ( United nation’s Human Settlement Programme). Naidu’s tenure as a chairperson is for two years. UN GC (governing council) has 58 members. India chaired UN Habitat three times. In 1988, in 2007 Bharath had been discharged responsibilities as a chairman of UN Habitat. UN launched this organisation in the view to provide a sustained and affordable housing for everyone. Venkaiah addressing in the meeting said, the need of urban planning and execution strategies to ensure dignity of living. He will stay for four days as per the schedule of the programe.  Central ministers and veteran political personalities conveyed their delight over his appointment as the chairman of UN Habitat.
