Vastavam web:Kala Tapaswi K Viswanadh has been conferred India’s highest award in cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2016. The award was announed by union minister Venkaiah Naidu this evening.
Born on 19 February, 1930 in a traditional family, K Viswanath started off his professional career as a sound engineer. Thereupon, he worked as an assistant director at then top director Adurthi Subbarao.
K Viswanath made his film debut as a director with ANR’s ‘Athma Gouravam’ which went on super hit. Later, the director helmed a few content based films such as ‘Chelleli Kapuram’, ‘Jeevana Jyothi’ etc.
