Vastavam Web:Air India lifted on Friday a flying ban on Shiv Sena parliamentarian Ravindra Gaikwad for allegedly assaulting a veteran employee of the national carrier on board a flight roughly two weeks ago.The decision came after the civil aviation minister wrote to the national carrier asking the restrictions on the controversial politician be lifted.
The Shiv Sena MP was denied permission by Air India to fly and cancelled his tickets between Mumbai and Delhi booked for April 17 and 24. Gaikwad had allegedly assaulted an Air India manager on March 23 .Gaikwad, an MP from Osmanabad, was banned by six airlines after the incident last month. He also admitted on TV hitting the Air India employee with his slippers 25 times. This is the seventh attempt on the part of Gaikwad to book a flight on the airlines.
